Job Title: Semi Skilled Welder

Location: Harare

Reporting to: Director

Supervises: Assistants

 

Responsible for the safe and accurate assembling of metal components and structures to the relevant trade standards.

 

Duties:

  • Develop layouts, prepare metal cutting lists, fabricate and install.

  • Quality management.

  • Develop and maintain good client relationships and supplier relationships.

  • Manage stock, tools and equipment.

  • Basic welding; to join and or solder metal pieces together for various domestic and industrial fixtures.

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

  • Safe and accurate use of an oxy-acetylene cutting set.

  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.

  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

  • Clean welded sections before painting and or delivery.

  • Maintain equipment in a safe and secure manner.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

 

Education: Class 2 welder / relevant experience.

Skills: Assertive / Attention to Detail / Time Management.

Abilities: Manage a job from inception, design to completion. Strong organisational skills.

Other: 5+ years’ work experience in a similar role.

Duties:

  • Interpret blueprints and drawings to develop materials and tools lists and procedures.

  • Develop layouts, prepare timber pieces, fabricate and install.

  • Quality management.

  • Develop and maintain good client relationships and supplier relationships.

  • Manage stock, tools and equipment.

  • Operate angle grinders, circular saw and other relevant power tools safely and securely.

  • Inspect structure to discover flaws.

  • Clean and smooth timber elements before painting and or delivery.

  • Maintain equipment in a safe and secure manner.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

 

Education: Class One Carpenter or relevant equivalent.

Skills: Assertive / Attention to Detail / Time Management.

Abilities: Manage a job from inception, design to completion. Strong organisational skills.

Other: 5+ years’ work experience.
